Release. A poem, by Sinead Blackmore

Slender beams of light pierce this darkened prison
I rise, once a slave forever hopeful.
No more frozen in time.
Tortured images that once seared my eyes no longer keep me bound here.
Realisation dawns on a deathless face.
Free
I defy this callous fate.
